Q: How much is it going to cost?

A: The cost depends on your individual treatment plan, but our amazing treatment coordinator will help fit the cost into your lifestyle. We have many options available that will fit best for you.

Q: How long will my appointment take?

A: We understand that everyone has a busy lifestyle, so here at Total Health Dental we want to make sure that your personal time is being managed efficiently. Our new patient appointment typically is for about an hour and half, where we spend the time to get to know you and review your overall health and get the diagnostic records to better treat you.

Q: Is it going to hurt?

A: Dr. Khaja prides himself on giving painless injections, and we will make sure that your comfort is our top priority. We understand that one of the top fears people have about going to the dentist is the pain factor. Here is what some of our patients have to say…

“Dr Khaja is very gentle and makes you feel very comfortable. I went in for a couple of fillings and was worried that the novacaine shot would hurt, Dr Khaja has a very unique and gentle way of making the shot not hurt at all! It was very much pain free!” – Stacy F.

“Dr.Khaja is great! He is very easy to talk to and explains procedures well. The staff is great at Total Health Dental. I swear that they must write things down in my chart that we talk about because they always seem to remember the stories of my life. The last time I was there I actually got so relaxed during drilling that I zoned out and forgot that I was even at the dentist office. Great place to have a cleaning and work done.” – Karen G.

Q: Is this covered by my insurance?

A: We do our best in verifying all of your insurance benefits to maximize your coverage. We will let you know if certain procedures are not a covered benefit under your specific plan.

Q: Will a deep cleaning hurt?

A: Actually, a deep cleaning is therapeutic and reduces inflammation and infection. We have a variety of techniques and products to help you stay comfortable during your procedure.

Q: What is the difference between hand scaling and the ultrasonic?

A: They are both designed to remove plaque and tartar from your gums. Depending on your conditions and preferences, we use what is best to keep your gums healthy.

Q: What is the purpose of polishing?

A: It helps reduce staining and leaves your teeth feeling very smooth.

Q: Can I make payments or finance my portion?

A: We offer our patients a variety of payment options. We have a great treatment coordinator who will help fit your co-pay into your lifestyle. We accept all major credit cards and finance larger payments through CareCredit.

Q: What insurance do you accept?

A: We are a Preferred Provider for a majority of PPO insurance plans. Please call us to inquire about your plan. We also have an “In-office Dental Savings Plan,” if you do not have any type of insurance.

Q: Why do you take my blood pressure at every appointment?

A: We take your blood pressure to establish good healthy habits. Our patients see us more frequently than they see their medical doctor, and this allows us to routinely check on your health.

Q: How often do I have to go to the dentist?

A: There is no one-size-fits-all dental treatment. Some people may need to visit the dentist once or twice a year, others may need to visit more. You are a unique individual with a unique smile and unique needs when it comes to keeping your smile healthy.
